We all know the numbers: 7 out of 10 startups fail.
Yet we all believe we are the lucky ones out of 10. And rightfully so – without that belief, it is hard to push through all the challenges ahead of any startup founder. Yet, in order to succeed, understanding why certain startups don't quite succeed becomes even more critical. As we embark on this exploration of failure, I will share personal tales of challenges and missteps from my very own startup experiences. Beyond the stories, we aim to foster a discussion around frameworks and strategies to mitigate these challenges. Knowing the 6 common honey traps of startup founders will get you hopefully one step closer to being the three out of 10.

In this session the PREVENT Waste Alliance will introduce itself and some of its projects.
Background information on the Alliance: The PREVENT Waste Alliance brings together different actors from the private sector, academia, civil society and public institutions. It serves as a platform for exchange and international cooperation. The members of the PREVENT Waste Alliance work together for the prevention, collection and recycling of waste, and the reuse of resources in the economy worldwide.

Priority topics include plastic waste, e-waste and organic waste. The PREVENT members also work on cross-cutting issues such as digitalisation, sustainable financing mechanisms and awareness raising / behaviour change.

CIRCULAR DESIGN 1.0
The Effizienzagentur NRW (Efficiency Agency NRW) and CIRCO will dive deep into the design of your business model and into the problems you solve. You are invited to rethink your business model, explore how to think out-of-the-box and find new ways and methods to find solutions towards a circular economy.
Session 1 (online, October 27): After an initial input into the topic and the workshop methodology, you will take a sharp look at your value chain and examine it for value loss points. Every loss point contains a chance for something new. You will evaluate these chances as homework and choose the most suitable one to formulate your goals in an ambition statement.
Note: Participation in session 1 is mandatory in order to participate in session 2.
At least one person from the team should be present throughout both sessions.
Session 2 (in peson, November 8): In Session 2, you will work with the ambition statements that you have shaped. On the basis of this, you will develop suitable solution models and identify the concrete steps for action. Finally, you will work on a summary that can be used for your final presentations.
In order to keep within the time frame of the workshop, please follow the link to your Miro Board sent to you on the morning of 27 October and register before the workshop. Please also check your spam folder!
